Treatment Disclaimer
Important safety, healing and results information for PMU, lip neutralization, lip blush, brows and scalp micropigmentation.
Last updated: 30 July 2026Not medical treatment
Permanent makeup and scalp micropigmentation are cosmetic procedures. Website content does not diagnose or treat disease and does not replace medical advice. Cosmetic pigment procedures do not provide lip volume, remove the biological cause of pigmentation or stimulate hair growth.
Results vary
Colour response, healed tone, symmetry, fading, retention and longevity differ between individuals. Dark lip neutralization is progressive and may require more than one session. No exact colour, number of sessions, permanence or identical before-and-after result is guaranteed.
Normal healing
Temporary tenderness, swelling, dryness, flaking, darker initial colour and uneven-looking stages can occur during normal healing. The visible colour usually softens and changes as the skin recovers. Final assessment should wait until the advised healing period has passed.
When medical approval may be needed
Medical approval or postponement may be required for pregnancy or breastfeeding, uncontrolled health conditions, immune compromise, blood-thinning medication, active dermatological disease, infection, recent surgery or injectables, severe allergy history, keloid tendency, cold-sore risk or other relevant conditions. This list is not exhaustive.
Cold sores and lip procedures
Lip procedures can trigger a recurrence in people with a history of herpes simplex. Clients should discuss prevention with their own licensed medical professional before treatment. PMUDXB does not prescribe medication through website content.
Urgent or unexpected symptoms
Seek urgent medical care for severe or rapidly increasing swelling, breathing difficulty, widespread rash, uncontrolled bleeding, high fever, severe pain, pus, spreading redness, significant heat or other concerning symptoms. Do not wait for a social-media reply in an emergency.
Previous pigment and correction
Old tattoo or PMU pigment may limit colour choice and technique. Some cases require removal, fading, medical review or may not be suitable for cover-up. Colour correction cannot guarantee complete removal or perfect cancellation of previous pigment.
SMP limitations
SMP creates the visual impression of follicles; it does not create hair, stop hair loss or guarantee that dots will remain unchanged. Skin type, sun exposure, scalp condition, hair-loss progression and aftercare affect the result.
Aftercare responsibility
Healing outcome depends partly on following the written aftercare, avoiding picking or peeling, limiting relevant exposure and attending recommended reviews. Failure to follow aftercare can affect retention and increase complication risk.
Consultation required
A personalised assessment is required before every procedure. The practitioner may decline or postpone treatment where the requested result is unsafe, outside professional scope or unlikely to heal predictably.
